Week of 05/10/2004......
- This was really the Pine & Kanabec County tree planting week. We
put in 75 white pine, 25 Norway pine, 25 black walnut, 25 butternut, 75
black chokeberry, 25 flame willow and other stuff I can't remember right at
this moment.
- I stayed @ Finlayson M-F and returned on SAT w/ Linda to put in two big
River Birch which required much digging and replacement of some nasty thorn
bush. Most of the remaining vegetation is dominated by thorns.
- The big project was painting the remaining LR walls and one K wall.
This requires patching of knotholes with my favorite product of all time,
water putty, a primer coat of Kilz (or Bin) and a finish coat. I also
did three additional sections of ceilings which required two coats and an
edging pass with much, much use of masking tape. The 3M blue masking
tape sucks, and I'm going to write them in regards to that issue.
- Linda came up on WED, FRI & SAT and that was really fun. We had
lunch at the Finlayson Cafe and the Willow River Cafe and had a good time
together.
