During the recent Mounds View operating levy campaign it was very clear that election success would not preclude closing schools in the 2005-2006 year. District officials and School Board members have worked hard and are now doing what they said they would do…be good fiscal stewards. Lobbying now to keep your local school open fails the fundamental tenet of working for education initiatives with measurable outcomes (for students AND teachers). District taxpayers would best serve themselves and our future students with voting booth choices for ‘education stewardship’ for all students during every election, not just during referendum initiatives for local schools..
